Job Description:
The Financial Controller role plays a pivotal role in this expanding business based near Newport.

Our client is a growing business based near Newport who are going through a period of change and have big growth plans for 2026 and beyond.
Description
Reporting to the Financial Director, the Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in the day to day running of the Finance department.
The FC will join initially on a temp contract for 6 months with the potential of Temp to Perm if it works out on both sides.
This can also just be a temp role whilst a perm FC is recruited.
The role will be responsible for;
*Revenue control (Revenue accrued or deferred).
*Manage outstanding po from customers (requires some attendance at customer meetings supporting the Customer Relationship Manager)
*Manage AR including Credit Controller
*Invoicing control (ensure invoices are raised correctly on time)
*VAT reporting
*Payroll responsibility (payroll processing is outsourced)
*Manage 3 AP clerks
*Be a key player in cross functional teams
*Manage and oversee all financial operations, including reporting and forecasting.
*Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
*Prepare detailed financial reports for management and stakeholders.
*Monitor cash flow and implement strategies for financial efficiency.
*Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate record-keeping.
*Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
*Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors as required.
*Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department
Profile
A successful Financial Controller should have:
*Qualifications in accounting (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
*Proven experience in financial management.
*Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Proficiency in financial systems and software.
*Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
*Exceptional organisational and leadership capabilities.
Job Offer
*Competitive salary c £60,000 - £65000.
*26 days annual leave + bank holidays
*5% pension
*This role will be 5 days on site
