Job Description:
As an Interviewer/Assessor, you will support and guide applicants through the assessment process in a professional, friendly and unbiased environment.
The role includes delivering both physical and cognitive (psychometric) assessment activities under strict test conditions, as well as applying a detailed marking framework to ensure candidates are graded fairly and consistently. You will work 37.5 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern across 7 days, which includes occasional overnight chaperone duties and on-call responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
*Delivering all assessment activities in line with established testing protocols
*Maintaining an unbiased, controlled environment throughout assessment activities
*Assessing candidates against fixed criteria using standardised marking guides
*Providing clear and constructive feedback on performance, outcomes and next steps
*Conducting individual career discussions with candidates
*Producing accurate written reports to support recruiters and training staff in understanding each candidate’s strengths and development areas
Requirements:
*Strong verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to support, mentor and nurture candidates
*Excellent team-working skills
*An organised approach with strong attention to detail
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
*Familiarity with Army careers or military pathways is beneficial but not essential
About the Programme
This partnership programme is responsible for transforming and modernising the recruitment and selection process for the British Army. The team is focused on improving the candidate journey, ensuring applicants experience a transparent, supportive and efficient pathway into military service. The role offers the chance to contribute to a meaningful and high-impact national recruitment initiative.
