Job Description:
Senior Category Lead (Maternity Cover)
*Daily Rate: £550-650 (inside IR35)
*Job Type: Contract for 6 months initially
*Location: Bedford but hybrid working and can be flexible
We are seeking a Senior Category Lead to provide maternity cover. This role involves providing commercial support to a team dedicated to offering information and advice on debt, including free debt advice services. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing contracts, allocating grants, and providing comprehensive commercial advice throughout the contract/grant lifecycle.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Act as the commercial lead on a complex competition programme, similar in discipline and skills required to a PCR 2015 Competitive Dialogue, although not a public contract under PA23.
*Plan and execute a cross-country, multi-lot approach, working collaboratively with potential providers to identify optimal solutions tailored to specific regional needs.
*Ensure the competition process is efficient, minimises resource waste, and focuses on critical aspects, providing a positive experience for all participants.
*Develop and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, including service commissioners.
*Coach and mentor commercial team members, fostering their development and wellbeing.
*Contribute positively to a dynamic and diverse commercial team, promoting a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Commercial expertise, ideally MCIPS or equivalent, with comprehensive experience across the full commercial lifecycle including strategy, sourcing, procurement, and commercial contract management.
*Proven experience in managing complex competitions, either in awarding grants or public contracts.
*Decisive and capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
*Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to constructively challenge situations to improve outcomes.
*Strong team player, able to work effectively within the programme team and the Commercial leadership team.
