We are seeking a highly motivated Research Data Manager, to work with routinely collected national and regional data from sources such as The Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) and Hospital Episode Statistics. They will work within the Precision Health Programme Team in the Centre for Primary Care (Whitechapel campus), assisting with access to CPRD data through the Queen Mary CPRD Multi Study Licence. This involves providing feasibility counts and approved CPRD data extracts to researchers across the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Training will be provided. The post holder will be expected to plan and organise work to meet agreed standards and deadlines and communicate progress to colleagues and collaborators.
There may be opportunities to collaborate on research projects with the staff in the Clinical Effectiveness Group.
Experience / skills required:
The post holder should have
*experience of working with large scale routine health data or longitudinal cohorts, (for example, the Clinical Practice Research Datalink, Hospital Episode Statistics, OpenSAFELY, UK Biobank), or experience of processing equivalent health databases.
*experience of programming skills using software such as R, Stata, Python, SQL, or similar.
It would be advantageous if the post holder has
*experience of cleaning, analysing and interpreting data
*experience of conducting quantitative research and analysis in a health-related field (e.g. cardiovascular disease, diabetes), and understanding of health inequalities
*experience of developing and applying statistical and epidemiological analytic approaches for applied health research
Qualifications:
BSc or MSc degree in relevant subject; such as data science, biomedicine, statistics, or mathematics or equivalent
Or
PhD or equivalent experience in statistics, epidemiology, or other quantitative public health discipline
