Rochdale Council are seeking a dedicated Streets Operative to join their team. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of public spaces. The ideal candidate will be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Removing litter from public spaces and clearing detritus to maintain a clean environment.
*Emptying litter bins regularly to prevent overflow and maintain hygiene.
*Utilising hand brooms to sweep pavements, ensuring they are clean and safe for public use.
*Reporting issues such as graffiti and fly tipping to the relevant authorities promptly.
*Operating in various weather conditions, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
*Engaging in manual labour tasks, including extensive walking and lifting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Full clean driving licence.
*Strong understanding of health and safety regulations to ensure safe working practices.
*Physical fitness, capable of handling manual labour tasks including walking, lifting, and operating in adverse weather conditions.
*Good observational skills to identify and report maintenance issues.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
