Job Scope
The Software Test Engineer is responsible for building and testing software to support products and services within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
*Build and test software to support products and services.
*Produce and maintain software build and test specifications.
*Act as a technical liaison with customers and collaborators on software-related matters.
*Contribute to improving software testability.
*Undertake additional project tasks as required by management.
*Perform any other tasks associated with this role.
Requirements
*Strong technical background.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Proficient in PC usage and MS Office.
*Good understanding of the Software Engineering Lifecycle, particularly test and integration.
*Knowledge of scripting/programming languages for automating builds and testing.
*Willingness to travel occasionally, including sailing with ships in the UK and abroad.
Experience
*Minimum 1 year of practical experience testing software for PCs running Windows.
*Experience writing test plans, specifications, and reports.
*Experience building software and creating installers (desirable).
*Previous experience in a similar role within a technical or engineering organization (preferred).
Qualifications
*A good Engineering degree with software content or equivalent. Lower qualifications may be considered if supported by relevant experience.
