Additional Learning Support Tutor
*Location: South East London
*Job Type: Full-time,
*Contract Duration: Until 27/03/2026
*Hours per Week: 37 (Note: Lunch breaks are unpaid and should not be claimed on weekly timesheets.)
*Salary: £23p/h-£28p/h
We are seeking a dedicated Additional Learning Support Tutor to join our team at the South East London Campus. This role is crucial in providing study-skills support, creating Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and offering 1:1 tuition to help learners with declared learning difficulties and/or disabilities develop and consolidate their study skills.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Act as the main point of contact for assigned learners, liaising with curriculum staff, parents, and external agencies.
*Encourage learner-centred, active learning and provide pastoral care and action planning in collaboration with specialist assessors and course tutors.
*Advise staff on strategies to support learners with learning difficulties.
*Source and utilize skills development materials to support learning and promote independence.
*Conduct robust assessments to determine the level of independence and additional support required.
*Complete Learning Needs Interviews (LNI), produce individual learning support plans, schemes of work, study materials, and resources.
*Set learning support targets, track and review progress.
*Facilitate in the assessment processes of exam access arrangements and maintain accurate support documentation.
*Liaise with curriculum managers/course leaders to facilitate the development of study skills.
*Administer initial and diagnostic assessments to identify skills gaps and development needs.
*Assist in ensuring successful transition of EHCP learners into and from College programmes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English.
*L4 SEN or SpLD related qualification or willingness to work towards it.
*Teaching qualification is desirable.
*Proven experience in providing tutoring support to learners with SpLD and/or a range of complex needs.
*Knowledge of differentiated learning approaches and assessment.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and database systems related to College operations.
*Ability to assess learner needs and devise detailed learning plans.
*Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships and promote impactful learning.
