Year 6/KS2 Teaching Assistant

Job Purpose:To provide targeted support to Year 6 pupils in preparation for SATs, working closely with the class teacher to deliver high-quality interventions that raise attainment and ensure pupils reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:*Support the Year 6 teacher in planning and delivering lessons, particularly in core subjects (English and Maths).
*Deliver small group and one-to-one interventions focused on SATs preparation, addressing gaps in learning and boosting confidence.
*Assist pupils with exam techniques and revision strategies to improve performance in SATs.
*Monitor and track pupil progress during interventions, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO where appropriate.
*Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual learners, including those with SEND or EAL.
*Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment in line with school policies.
*Prepare and organise intervention materials and maintain accurate records of sessions.
*Contribute to the wider life of the school, including supporting enrichment activities where required.
Person Specification:*Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent).
*Experience working with KS2 pupils, ideally Year 6.
*Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum, particularly English and Maths.
*Ability to deliver structured interventions and support pupils in achieving learning targets.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Patience, resilience, and a positive approach to supporting children’s learning.
*Previous experience supporting SATs preparation.
*Experience working with pupils with SEND or EAL.
