SEN Teaching Assistant
Required from January 2026

Full-time role Monday to Friday with early finish each Friday.


About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a Reception class. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities*Support individual pupils with SEN, including those with EHCPs, to access the Early Years curriculum.
*Implement personalised learning plans and strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
*Assist with the development of communication, social, and emotional skills through structured activities and play.
*Provide one-to-one and small group support to promote engagement and progress.
*Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to the teacher and SENCO.
*Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
*Support with personal care needs where required.
*Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to ensure consistent support.
Requirements*Experience working with children in an Early Years or SEN setting, ideally supporting SEN pupils.
*Knowledge of EYFS framework and child development principles.
*Understanding of strategies for supporting pupils with additional needs (e.g., autism, speech and language difficulties).
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
*Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent)
