VAT Accountant | Hybrid (Leeds) | £35,000 - £45,000
An organisation based in Leeds are seeking an experienced VATAccountant to support key finance operations. This Leeds-based role (with flexible hybrid working) offers the chance to join a high-performing finance team within a fast-moving, innovative environment.
About the Role
You’ll work as part of the Group Finance team, supporting external financial reporting with a strong focus on VAT. This role also gives you the opportunity to drive continuous improvement across finance processes and contribute to wider transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and submit domestic and foreign VAT returns and tax reports across multiple jurisdictions
*Follow up on VAT refunds and initiate VAT payments
*Reconcile VAT GL accounts and review VAT-to-revenue reconciliations
*Support responses to tax authority queries
*Provide VAT insight and guidance to internal stakeholders
*Monitor VAT legislation changes and assess business impact
*Liaise with tax teams, service providers and external advisors
*Support accurate VAT reporting in collaboration with finance, accounting and operations
*Assist with corporate tax filings and wider regulatory reporting
*Support internal and external audits
*Contribute to improving processes, procedures and controls
About You
*Able to manage pace, deadlines and competing priorities
*Clear, logical thinker with strong analytical capability
*Fully qualified or part-qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent)
*Solid indirect tax experience
*Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
