Job Description:
Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN Support)

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to provide SEN support within a mainstream educational setting. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and skilled in supporting students with special educational needs to integrate successfully into a mainstream classroom.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assist SEN students within a mainstream classroom, adapting teaching materials and methods to meet their individual needs.
*Work closely with the primary teacher to implement effective strategies that promote an inclusive learning environment.
*Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students.
*Facilitate communication between SEN students and their peers to foster social integration and mutual understanding.
*Monitor and record the progress of SEN students, providing feedback to teachers and parents to help tailor ongoing educational strategies.
*Assist with the organization and management of classroom activities to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, with specific experience supporting SEN students in a mainstream setting preferred.
*Understanding of the educational and social challenges faced by SEN students.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with young children.
*Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
*Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other educational staff.
*Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
