SEN Teaching Assistant
*£14 - £16 per hour
*Location: Kettering
*Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school team in Kettering. This role specifically involves supporting children with autism, providing them with the necessary guidance and support to thrive in an educational setting.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide tailored support to children with autism, adapting to their individual learning needs and preferences.
*Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement educational plans and activities that cater to the needs of children with autism.
*Assist in the development of social skills by facilitating interactions with other children in a controlled and supportive environment.
*Monitor and record the progress of children, providing feedback to teachers and parents to help further their development.
*Employ a variety of educational techniques (e.g., storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children.
*Ensure the learning environment is safe and conducive to learning for children with autism.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with specific experience supporting children with autism is desirable but not essential
*Understanding of the needs and behaviours associated with autism and how to effectively support children with these needs in an educational setting.
*Patience, creativity, and a compassionate approach to dealing with children.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
*Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (SEN) are highly desirable.
