This leading regional practice is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join its well-regarded Childcare Law team. The Role:
Working closely with solicitors and legal advisers, the Paralegal will support the day-to-day progression of childcare cases, undertaking both legal and administrative tasks with professionalism, accuracy and strong time-management skills. The position requires adherence to compliance and quality standards and calls for a high level of initiative, organisation and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver consistently high standards of client care in a professional and personable manner
*Maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of all client and firm documentation
*Prepare legal documents, including applications, statements and forms
*Conduct research and assist with investigations into relevant areas of law
*Comply with Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Solicitors Code of Conduct
*Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues across the firm
*Foster positive working relationships with external organisations and institutions
*Support administrative staff when required
*Take responsibility for ongoing training and professional development
*Contribute to promoting the firm’s services and professional reputation
*Assist with file management under the supervision of fee earners.
*Complete Public Funding forms when requested
*Attend court hearings, meetings and conferences as required
*Initiate contact with prospective clients, assess eligibility for public funding and provide procedural information
*Open new files in accordance with internal procedures.
*Work with fee earners on case administration, including filing, typing and photocopying
Person Specification:
*Strong computer and word-processing skills
*Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
*Some previous experience working in a legal environment
*A commitment to the ethos and values of a client-focused, socially responsible firm
