This leading regional practice is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join its well-regarded Childcare Law team. This opportunity is ideal for an individual who is passionate about supporting families, safeguarding children’s welfare and contributing to work that genuinely makes a difference.

The Role
Working closely with solicitors and legal advisers, the Paralegal will support the day-to-day progression of childcare cases, undertaking both legal and administrative tasks with professionalism, accuracy and strong time-management skills. The position requires adherence to compliance and quality standards and calls for a high level of initiative, organisation and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
*Deliver consistently high standards of client care in a professional and personable manner.
*Maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of all client and firm documentation.
*Prepare legal documents, including applications, statements and forms.
*Conduct research and assist with investigations into relevant areas of law.
*Comply with Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Solicitors Code of Conduct.
*Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues across the firm.
*Foster positive working relationships with external organisations and institutions.
*Support administrative staff when required.
*Take responsibility for ongoing training and professional development.
*Contribute to promoting the firm’s services and professional reputation.
*Assist with file management under the supervision of fee earners.
*Complete Public Funding forms when requested.
*Attend court hearings, meetings and conferences as required.
*Initiate contact with prospective clients, assess eligibility for public funding and provide procedural information.
*Open new files in accordance with internal procedures.
*Work with fee earners on case administration, including filing, typing and photocopying.
Person Specification
*Strong computer and word-processing skills.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
*Some previous experience working in a legal environment.
*A commitment to the ethos and values of a client-focused, socially responsible firm.
