Job Title: Cleaning/Facilities Assistant
Location: Newbury
Hours: 30 hours per week
*Mon–Thu: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
*Fri: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Pay Rate: £12.21 – £12.50 per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Cleaning/Facilities Assistant to maintain high standards of cleanliness and support facilities operations across our site. This role involves ensuring communal areas are well-stocked, performing daily cleaning tasks, and assisting with general facilities duties.
Key Responsibilities
*Ensure communal areas (kitchens, bathrooms, meeting rooms) are stocked with consumables (soap, paper towels, dishwasher tablets, bin bags).
*Monitor cleanliness standards across the site and address issues promptly.
*Perform daily cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting offices, corridors, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
*Follow cleaning checklists and schedules.
*Replenish consumables throughout the day.
*Support stock control by monitoring and ordering cleaning and consumable materials.
*Conduct regular checks of site facilities and report faults to the Facilities & HSE Manager.
*Assist with office moves, furniture setups, and deliveries as required.
*Manage waste disposal and recycling in line with site procedures.
*Store cleaning materials and equipment safely in compliance with COSHH regulations.
Requirements & Skills
Essential:
*Ability to manage stock and supplies effectively.
*Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to cleanliness.
*Physically fit to perform cleaning tasks across multiple floors (including hoovering, mopping, and moving furniture).
*Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Desirable:
*Previous experience in facilities or caretaking roles.
*Basic knowledge of Health & Safety or COSHH (training provided if needed).
