Junior Analyst

Our client is a product sourcing company and supplier to retail who due to continued growth now have an excellent opportunity for a Junior Commercial Analyst to join their team in Wigan.

Your duties / accountabilities will include:
*Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities and risks
*Produce clear, insightful reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
*Develop and maintain product pricing models, ensuring competitiveness and profitability
*Partner with New Product Development (NPD) teams to evaluate the commercial viability of new products
*Assess the profitability of existing products and make recommendations for optimisation
*Collaborate with sales, product and finance teams to align pricing strategy with business objectives
*Present findings and commercial recommendations to management and key stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner
*Review macro-economic factors which could affect departments commercially (forecasts, pricing, logistics etc) including (but not exhaustive to) exchange rate, UK economy & consumer confidence
*Working closely with the finance team on annual budgets and forecasting, providing accurate data and variance analysis
*Providing support in commercial analysis cross department with a key focus on accurate reporting against budget and business KPIs
The successful candidate will have:
*Strong background in commercial analysis working with large data sets and creating reports
*Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualisation or BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
*Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability with keen attention to detail
*Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data to non-technical audiences
*Experience in pricing strategy and/or product profitability analysis is highly desirable
*Degree in Mathematics, Business, Finance, Economics or a related field preferred
*Good team player with a positive attitude to driving team goals
