Reed Finance are supporting a well-established, family-run business, who are looking for a new Management Accountant to join the team. Supporting the Financial Controller and other key stakeholders within the business, the Management Accountant will play a key role in providing accurate financial reports, analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, and performance dashboards for the Financial Controller and Directors.
*Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, aged client and subcontractor retention reporting, cash collection reports, cash flow analysis, monthly margin reports, and overhead reports.
*Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes, providing detailed analysis to aid business decision-making.
*Liaise with external auditors and address queries in a timely and professional manner.
*Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including reviewing CIS, VAT, and CITB submissions.
*Oversee subcontractor payment notices ensuring accuracy and compliance.
*Complete National Statistics returns and other statutory submissions as required.
*Take full accountability for the sales ledger and credit control functions.
*Assist in the annual insurance renewal process by preparing required financial data.
*Maintain and update the finance manual and process flows, recommending improvements where appropriate.
*Assist in the rollout of new systems and processes, and collaborate closely with the finance team to maximise productivity.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with the Commercial team to ensure financial alignment with operational goals.
*Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification (Part-qualified will also be considered)
*Previous experience within the construction sector is highly desirable.
*Strong knowledge of CIS, DRC, and other construction-specific accounting practices.
*Proficient in IT Software, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and SharePoint.
*Familiarity with accounting and finance systems is highly desirable.
