Location: Barking (Planned move to Brentwood, Essex within 10–15 months)
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch)
Hybrid Working: 1 day per week after probation
Probation: 3 months
Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking to join a growing business within the construction and property development sector? This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
About the Role
You will support the Financial Controller across two companies operating in construction, property development, and lettings. Your responsibilities will include:
*Preparing and presenting monthly management accounts and financial reports
*Producing balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, and margin reports
*Managing aged client and subcontractor retention reporting
*Overseeing credit control and sales ledger functions
*Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations (CIS, VAT, CITB)
*Liaising with external auditors and handling statutory submissions
*Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and insurance renewals
*Assisting with finance system implementation and process improvements
About You
*CIMA/ACCA/ACA part-qualified or finalist
*Previous experience in the construction industry is desirable
*Strong knowledge of CIS, DRC, and construction-specific accounting practices
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and finance systems
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
