Job Description:
Senior Accountant to join our regional, hardworking team in the Cannock area. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to contribute to a supportive and dynamic work environment.

Based in Cannock, this well established and successful firm acts for very wide ranging clients across varying industries and turnover to encompass sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, SMEs and OMBs. The firm has a good reputation and has been undergoing a sustained period of positive growth and they are looking to hire as a result of this. The firm also offers a supportive environment where you will be encouraged and supported to develop further in areas of technical interest.
Description
*Prepare and deliver year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders across multiple industries.
*Manage corporation tax computations and assist with personal tax returns where required.
*Review work prepared by junior team members, providing feedback, guidance, and mentoring to support their development.
*Take ownership of a growing client portfolio, acting as a key point of contact and building strong, long-term relationships.
*Prepare and review management accounts, VAT returns, and bookkeeping as needed to ensure comprehensive client support.
*Liaise directly with clients and HMRC, resolving queries efficiently and maintaining high standards of communication.
Profile
*Have solid experience using accounting and bookkeeping software, ideally including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage (or similar cloud-based systems).
*Be comfortable preparing accounts using practice software; experience with IRIS, CCH, or Digita would be an advantage, but not essential.
*Demonstrate a proactive, organised, and self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
*Thrive both independently and within a small, collaborative team where everyone supports each other.
*Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and build long-term relationships.
Job Offer
*Salary: £38,000-£42,000 DOE
*Flexible working hours
