General Cleaner/Housekeeper
*Job Type: Temporary positions (21 Full-time, 2 Part-time)
*Location: Multiple locations including Stretford, Trafford Park, Longsight, Openshaw, Claytonbrook, Newton Heath, North Manchester, Tameside, Didsbury, Oldham, Sedgley Park
*Duration: 3 months (likely to extend)
*Pay: £13.40 per hour PAYE
A Local Authority is seeking experienced General Cleaners/Housekeepers to join their team across various locations. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our facilities. Candidates must be diligent, reliable, and have a strong understanding of health and safety practices.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Perform general cleaning duties across various facilities, ensuring all areas are tidy and sanitary.
*Handle cleaning equipment and materials safely, including adherence to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
*Engage in physical activities such as lifting, bending, walking, pushing, and handling equipment necessary for thorough cleaning.
*Maintain a consistent and reliable attendance record, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
*Monitor and maintain health and safety standards throughout the premises.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Previous cleaning experience in a medium to large scale organisation.
*Good understanding of the English language, both in verbal communication and written text, to ensure effective communication and compliance with safety standards.
*Physical fitness to perform cleaning tasks effectively which includes lifting, bending, and handling equipment.
*Knowledge of health and safety practices, particularly around COSHH requirements and the safe use of cleaning equipment.
*Proven track record of good attendance and performance in previous roles.
