Science Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Have you got experience teaching science to pupils aged 11 to 16? Are you passionate about teaching science, especially Biology or Chemistry as a separate subject? If you have answered yes to these questions, then you might be interested in this new teaching role.
A "Good" rated Ofsted high school in Rochdale is currently recruiting for a science teacher to help with a maternity cover beginning in January until the end of the academic year. The supportive Science department is expecting a motivated individual who is passionate about teaching Science.
Location: Rochdale
Pay: £168.80- £232.57 paid to scale depending on experience
Responsibilities of the Role:
*Teaching Combined Science at key stage 3 and 4 and at time separates Biology and Chemistry.
*Planning the lessons and assignments based on the curriculum and delivering the lessons, aiming to set the students up for success.
*Creating engaging lessons, providing homework and marking assignments, including giving thorough feedback to the students.
*Having a good attitude in the classroom and having great organisational skills and classroom management.
Qualifications and Skills:
*Post Graduate Certificate in Education with Qualified Teaching Status (PGCE with QTS)
*Previous experience in teaching Science at key stage 3 and 4, however, early careers teachers (ECT) are also going to be considered.
*Ability to organise and run practical lessons in the classroom, ensuring students remain safe at all times
*Excellent communication skills
*Good ability to liaise with the rest of the Science department and organise lessons and practical lessons together.
