Job Description:
Medical Officer – Secondary Education
Location: Secondary School in Wigan
Contract: Temporary until July 2026
Hours: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Start Date: Immediate
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Officer to join our team and provide essential health support within our secondary school environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about student welfare and enjoys working in a busy, caring setting.
Key Responsibilities:
*Administer first aid to pupils and staff as required.
*Support students with ongoing medical needs and ensure their Health Care Plans are followed.
*Maintain accurate records of medical incidents and treatments.
*Liaise with parents, staff, and external health professionals when necessary.
*Promote a safe and healthy school environment.
Requirements:
*First Aid qualification
*Experience with administering medication
*Experience working with children or young people in an educational or healthcare setting is desirable.
*Strong communication and organisational skills.
*Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies.
