Job Description:
Delegated Authority Technician
Are you passionate about the detail behind Delegated Authority? Do you thrive in a role where precision, compliance, and collaboration come together to keep the market moving?
We’re looking for a Delegated Authority Technician to join a high-performing team within a fast-growing, dynamic insurance group operating in the heart of the London Market. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your technical expertise and make a tangible impact in a role that sits at the core of underwriting operations.
The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in managing and maintaining the group’s underwriting agreements - ensuring that binders, coverholder arrangements, and delegated authority contracts are robust, compliant, and run efficiently. Working closely with Underwriters, Operations, and Compliance teams, you’ll help drive operational excellence and strengthen relationships with brokers, coverholders, and capacity providers.
This is a fast-paced, varied role where no two days are the same - from drafting and reviewing binding authorities to supporting Lloyd’s registrations and audits, you’ll be the go-to expert for technical support and process improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Draft, review, and maintain underwriting agreements and endorsements in line with market, regulatory, and internal standards.
*Support coverholder onboarding, compliance, and due diligence processes using Lloyd’s systems such as ATLAS, DCOM, and DDM.
*Manage the central database of delegated authority agreements and ensure all records are accurate and up to date.
*Coordinate bordereaux preparation and assist with audit processes for capacity providers and carriers.
*Collaborate closely with Underwriters, Senior Management, and Operations teams to streamline processes and ensure best practice.
*Produce and maintain reports, trackers, and MI to support oversight and performance monitoring.
What You’ll Bring
*Proven experience in a delegated authority or technical insurance operations role.
*Strong understanding of binder management, coverholder processes, and London Market systems.
*Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple complex tasks.
*Attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive mindset.
*Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across the business.
*Advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel) and an analytical approach to data and reporting.
In return you will get:
*Salary to £65,000
*Hybrid Working
*Good bonus structure
*Extensive benefits package
