Title: Network and Security Engineer
Location: Remote with occasional London site travel and business needs
Hours: standard office hours
Duration: 3 months with potential extension
Pay: £300-£330p/d
This role falls inside ir35 so all suitable candidates will have to be comfortable working through umbrella
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Engineer to join our security engineering team. This role will focus on implementing, testing and documenting a service rollout across a global network. The ideal candidate has good configuration and troubleshooting skills across Palo Alto (firewall, Panorama) and routing (Juniper / Cisco) paired with meticulous documentation (LLD, change control). Experience of PAM systems is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
*Update LLD with site specific configuration information
*Review service requests and raise change requests where required
*Implement and test firewall policies through Panorama
*Troubleshoot connectivity issues across networks, applications, and security devices.
*Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
*Configure access policies in PAM systems
Experiance and skills
*Experience working with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama in complex multi-vsys multi-VR environments.
*Strong routing troubleshooting skills in Juniper/Cisco
*Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP).
*Knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL) and troubleshooting.
*Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
*Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Beneficial Experience
*Familiarity with cloud integrations (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
*Knowledge of PAM and Zero trust access
Preferred Certifications
*Palo Alto PCNSE or PCNSA (highly preferred).
*Juniper/Cisco networking to CCNP level

*Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
*Strong team player who can also work independently.
*Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
