We are recruiting for a Textile Designer on behalf of a leading textile design and manufacturing business based in London. The company specialises in the design and manufacturing of textiles and fabrics for the interior design industry supplying to clients globally.
This is a fast-paced commercial design role, you will be working on multiple designs for collections, the business produces 3 new collections a year. The Textile Designer will often be working on designs that require concept to finalisation sign off within 24 hours.
A summary of the job role includes:
Working closely with luxury global textile brands to service them with design, colouring and technical information
Create original artwork for textiles and wallpaper outcomes including print, weave and embroidery, considering target customers, as well as bring innovative and revolutionary ideas with confidence to regular design meetings
Generate detailed technical packs for the company factories, considering textiles qualities and price points
Research trends, qualities and colours
Visit clients alongside marketing and sales to discuss design briefs
Assisting with managing design archives
Candidates are required to be competent users of AVA design software or at the very least have an excellent understanding and experience of using Photoshop. Experience of using Mac as well as all Microsoft office packages. Hand painting skills are desirable. The role will involve travel when required in particular a 2-week trip once a year to the manufacturing facility in India.
