Job Description:
Quest Search & Selection is recruiting for a Retail category data analyst with strong commercial acumen, ideally you would have experience working within buying, category management, or supplier-led roles to shape data-driven buying, pricing & promotional decision making.
We are currently partnering with a rapidly growing retail business that brings both global brands and local favourites to millions of customers each year. With major recent wins and significant new store launches planned, this is an exciting time to join a high-performing commercial team within the travel and centre-based retail environment.
Key Responsibilities for this Retail category data analyst role:
*Build and deliver insightful dashboards and reports that drive stronger commercial decisions.
*Analyse sales, margin, pricing, promotional, and category performance data across multiple business areas.
*Provide analytical support for supplier negotiations, dynamic/pricing reviews, and promotional planning.
*Partner closely with finance, operations, and commercial teams to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
*Support continuous improvement in reporting accuracy, data visualisation, and commercial insight.
*Contribute to non-food buying activity, including branded supplier management and private-label support.
Key Requirements of this Retail category data analyst role:
*4-5+ years’ + experience in data analysis.
*Experience in retail, FMCG, supermarket, travel retail, or wholesale is desirable.
*Proven background in commercial analysis, buying, category management, or procurement.
*Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or VBA experience.
*Ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights.
*A confident communicator with a proactive, collaborative, and entrepreneurial mindset.
*Flexible and adaptable to the needs of a fast-growing business.
