Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement Team. This role is crucial for providing commercial and analytical support to ensure the smooth operation of the team and effective delivery of our Procurement Strategy. The Procurement Specialist will focus on supplier relationship management, compliance reporting, and improving internal processes to deliver a high-quality, value-added procurement service.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
*Supplier Management: Manage relationships with suppliers, including implementing SLAs and KPIs, and conducting regular review meetings to assess supplier performance, cost reductions, and service quality.
*Procurement Processes: Lead on RFQs, tenders, and benchmarking exercises, managing the procurement cycle from need identification to outcome reporting. Ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023.
*Reporting and Analysis: Support the Procurement & Contracts Manager by providing detailed reports and data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and trends. Utilize contract management systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date information.
*Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including college and school staff, public sector buying organisations, and other trusts to maintain high standards and compliance.
*Operational Support: Assist in the management of the utilities category, driving improvements in efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Handle purchase order scheduling and placement for core categories.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualifications: Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification or equivalent is essential. Degree-level education in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain is desirable.
*Experience: Proven experience in supplier relationship management, managing RFQs, tenders, and using e-tendering platforms. Experience in public sector procurement or similar regulated environments is highly desirable.
*Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and compliant procurement processes. Strong understanding of value-for-money principles and commercial risk management.
*Skills: Excellent analytical, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills. Proficiency in using digital procurement tools and contract management systems.
