Job Description:
Are you an experienced Laboratory Technician looking for your next challenge? We are supporting a leading Further Education college in Birmingham to recruit a Senior Laboratory Technician on a full-time, temporary ongoing basis starting in January.
Senior Laboratory Technician
Location: Birmingham
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Ongoing)
Start Date: January 2026
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for science practical sessions.
*Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all laboratory activities.
*Manage and monitor stock levels, ordering resources as required.
*Oversee and support junior technicians, providing guidance.
*Assist teaching staff with demonstrations and practical experiments.
*Maintain accurate records of equipment and chemicals, including safe disposal procedures.
Requirements
*Previous experience as a Senior Laboratory Technician or similar role within an educational setting.
*Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety standards.
*Excellent organisational and time management skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Good communication skills and attention to detail.
*Relevant science-related qualifications
*Enhanced DBS or willing to get one
