Job Title: Buyer
Location:Southampton (Hybrid)
Hours: Full Time (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Up to £30k per annum
Job Purpose
The Junior Buyer will support the procurement team by sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to meet company requirements. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in supply chain and procurement, with opportunities for growth and training.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in sourcing suppliers and maintaining supplier relationships.
*Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policies.
*Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
*Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
*Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
*Support the Senior Buyer in managing procurement projects and cost-saving initiatives.
*Ensure compliance with company standards and legal regulations.
*Liaise with internal departments to understand material and service requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
*Strong organisational and time-management skills.
*Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
*Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
*Knowledge of procurement processes (desirable).
*Previous experience in purchasing or supply chain (advantageous but not essential).
