We’re looking for an experienced manufacturing professional to lead the operations of a specialist production facility in Bordon. This role offers full strategic and operational ownership of the site, covering everything from production planning and health & safety to stakeholder engagement and team leadership.


You’ll manage day-to-day site operations, drive production performance, and ensure on-time delivery to the highest quality standards. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-precision, low-volume environment.


Key Responsibilities


Lead daily operations and act as Site Manager for the Bordon manufacturing facility


Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and internal policies (COSHH, risk assessments, etc.)


Manage a skilled team, including training, development, and succession planning


Oversee production planning and scheduling via ERP systems to meet project and customer demands


Review capacity, manage make/buy decisions, and coordinate with external suppliers


Drive materials and inventory control, ensuring stock accuracy and shelf-life compliance


Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and customers, attending meetings and progress reviews


Support internal/external audits (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and follow up on corrective actions


Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) is embedded early


Identify and deliver process improvements to boost quality, efficiency, and delivery performance


What You’ll Bring


Strong background in manufacturing engineering, ideally with composite and mechanical assemblies


Experience in high-precision, low-volume production (aerospace/space or similar preferred)


Proven ability to lead site operations and cross-functional teams


Hands-on understanding of CNC and manual machining processes


Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP knowledge a bonus)


Knowledge of facility management and H&S compliance, including COSHH


Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


Qualifications


ONC/HNC or Degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Production Engineering


Additional leadership training is a plus
