Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools | Wakefield & South Leeds In partnership with Outwood Academies, Brigshaw High School, Sherburn High School & local secondary schools
About the Role Milk Education is proud to be working closely with a network of supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Wakefield and South Leeds, including Outwood Academies, Brigshaw High School and Sherburn High School. We’re looking for confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors who are ready to make a positive impact in the classroom.
This is an excellent opportunity if you’re considering a career in teaching, already working with young people, or simply looking for flexible, rewarding work in schools.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom during short-term teacher absences, ensuring learning continues smoothly and students remain engaged. No planning, marking or teaching qualification required – just confidence, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with secondary-aged students.
What You’ll Be Doing * Supervising classes using pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
* Creating a calm, focused and positive learning environment
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Supporting students to stay engaged and on task
* Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate
Who We’re Looking For This role is ideal if you have:
* Experience working with young people (education, youth work, tutoring, mentoring, sports coaching, or similar)
* Confidence working with students aged 11–16
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A professional, flexible and proactive attitude
* An interest in education or teacher training (desirable, but not essential)
