We are currently working with a number of secondary schools across Leeds who are seeking reliable, confident, and adaptable Cover Teachers to provide high-quality classroom cover on a supply basis.
These roles are ideal for qualified teachers, ECTs, and experienced practitioners who are looking for flexible work while continuing to make a positive impact in the classroom.
The Role
As a Secondary Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4, maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher. You will work across a variety of subjects, ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused, and supported throughout the school day.
Placements range from day-to-day supply to short-term and long-term cover, depending on school requirements and your availability.
Key Responsibilities
*Deliver high-quality, pre-set cover lessons across KS3 and KS4
*Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
*Implement school behaviour policies consistently and confidently
*Ensure pupils remain engaged and on-task during lessons
*Adapt delivery to meet a range of learning and behavioural needs
*Communicate effectively with school staff regarding pupil engagement and behaviour
*Uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times
Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
*Strong classroom management skills
*Confidence delivering lessons across multiple subjects (or your specialist area, where applicable)
*Professional, calm, and adaptable approach
*Commitment to maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
*Availability during school hours (term time)
