Job Description:
Reed are delighted to be working with one of Kent’s largest independent racquets and health clubs based in the Bromley area. They have approached us to support them with their search to hire a new Finance Manager who will be joining at a very exciting time, as the business is going through a period of expansion and growth.
Reporting into the Finance Director, as an experience finance professional you will play a crucial role working alongside the existing part time Accountant, and in addition to utilising your experience to perform a number of high level tasks, you will also be comfortable with data entry tasks and possess the expertise to manage balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and deferred income.
Our client is open to the successful candidate joining the business on a full time, 5 day a week basis, or part time 4 days a week.
As the newly appointed Finance Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include :
*Prepare the Management Accounts on a monthly basis and review with the Finance Director
*Perform comprehensive data entry with high accuracy and efficiency.
*Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
*Manage and record accruals, prepayments, and deferred income in line with accounting principles.
*Utilise QuickBooks to streamline financial processes and reporting.
*Prepare the quarterly VAT return for review with the FD.
*Liaise with and manage the year end audit.
*Work with non finance staff who prepare crucial reports for the accuracy of the management accounts.
*Collaborate with the finance team to ensure financial compliance and timely month-end close processes.
To secure the Finance Manager position, your background, skillsets and experience will include :
*Proven experience working in a small finance team where multi tasking is a normal part of the working day.
*High level of working knowledge and proficiency in working with QuickBooks or Xero.
*Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Previous experience of working as a Finance Manager, with prior people management experience.
In addition to a full time equivalent salary up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience, our client offers a competitive pension and life insurance package.
