Job Description:
A well-established, specialist construction and property consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a Building Surveying background who enjoys working on technically challenging projects and taking schemes from early instruction through to completion. The successful Project Manager will join a close-knit consultancy environment where the Project Manager plays a hands-on, client-facing role across a varied workload.
With a strong regional presence and a reputation for technical delivery, this consultancy continues to expand its Project Management offering across the North West. Due to sustained client demand, they are now looking to appoint a Project Manager who can add value from day one and support the continued growth of the business.
The Project Manager Role The appointed Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on refurbishment, maintenance, and technically complex building-led schemes. Projects are typically delivered for long-standing clients and require a Project Manager who understands buildings, defects, and construction detail.
This role would suit a Project Manager who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working closely with clients, contractors, and consultant teams, rather than being siloed on a single large scheme.
Duties of the Project Manager to include: * Leading the day-to-day delivery of projects as the appointed Project Manager

* Managing projects from initial instruction through feasibility, design, procurement, delivery and handover

* Applying Building Surveying knowledge to inform project strategy, design development and risk management

* Coordinating and managing consultant teams, contractors and specialist sub-consultants

* Preparing and managing project programmes, risk registers and cost information

* Administering building contracts and consultant appointments

* Chairing project and site meetings, issuing actions and ensuring progress is maintained

* Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing clear and regular updates

* Ensuring projects are delivered in compliance with statutory, contractual and regulatory requirements

The Person? The successful Project Manager will come from a Building Surveying background and will be comfortable operating in a client-facing consultancy role. The Project Manager will ideally demonstrate:
* Proven experience working as a Project Manager within a consultancy environment

* A Building Surveying background, either qualified or from practical experience

* Strong technical understanding of buildings, construction and refurbishment works

* Experience delivering projects such as refurbishments, planned maintenance, and remedial works

* Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships

* The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

* Working towards, or already holding, a relevant professional qualification such as MRICS or similar

In Return…? * £40,000 - £55,000

* Discretionary bonus

* Pension and benefits package

* Varied and technically interesting workload

* Clear progression within a respected specialist consultancy

* Supportive team culture with real exposure to clients and decision-making
