Job Title: QTS Teacher Wigan
Location: Wigan (community-based or in-home sessions)
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time | Flexible Hours
About the Role
Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and passionate tutor with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our team in Wigan. As a QTS Teacher, you will deliver one-to-one or small group tuition across a variety of subjects, including Maths, English, and Science, to students who need additional support. If youre committed to helping students reach their academic potential and enjoy personalising lessons to meet individual learning needs, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored, one-to-one tuition in core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science, adjusting content to meet individual student needs.
Develop and adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to ensure each student is engaged and challenged according to their ability level.
Create a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages student confidence and academic growth.
Track and monitor student progress, providing regular updates and feedback to parents, carers, or other professionals involved in the students learning.
Work collaboratively with parents and families to ensure a consistent, well-rounded approach to student progress.
Provide additional support for students who need help with exam preparation or study skills.
Essential Requirements
Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
Minimum of 1 years experience teaching or tutoring in a one-to-one or small group setting.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience teaching or tutoring students at GCSE or Key Stage 3 level.
Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and their families.
Additional Information
Sessions are generally held during school hours, with some flexibility for after-school or evening sessions based on student availability.
This role offers the flexibility to work independently and make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys.
Prospero Teaching will provide ongoing support, resources, and regular progress monitoring to ensure you succeed in your role.
