Job Title: SEN Tutor Liverpool
Location: Liverpool (community-based or in-home sessions)
Pay Rate: GBP25 per hour (starting rate)
Job Type: Part-Time | Flexible Hours
About the Role
Prospero Teaching is looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Tutor to join our team in Liverpool. In this role, you will provide one-to-one tuition to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and other complex learning needs. If you’re passionate about supporting students with additional learning requirements and have the skills to tailor lessons to meet their individual needs, this is the ideal opportunity to make a real difference in their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver one-to-one tuition in core subjects (Maths, English, Science, etc.) to students with SEN, adapting your approach to suit each student’s learning profile.
Create personalised lesson plans and teaching strategies that support the individual academic, emotional, and social needs of students.
Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes confidence and reduces anxiety.
Support students in developing study skills, emotional regulation, and exam confidence.
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents, carers, or professionals involved in the student’s learning.
Work collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the students development.
Essential Requirements
At least 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring students with SEN in a one-to-one or small group setting.
Experience working with students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other learning difficulties.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Ability to manage a flexible tutoring schedule and work independently.
Desirable Qualifications
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or relevant teaching qualifications.
Experience supporting students at GCSE or Key Stage 3 level.
Knowledge of strategies and resources to support emotional, social, and academic development for students with SEN.
Additional Information
Sessions are typically held during school hours, with flexibility for after-school or evening sessions based on student needs.
