Location: Salford (community-based or in-home sessions)

About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and dedicated tutor with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our Outreach Tutor program in Salford. This role involves providing one-to-one tuition to students across a range of subjects, working in the community or directly within students’ homes. You will help students build academic confidence, improve subject knowledge, and overcome learning barriers, offering tailored support that adapts to their individual needs. Key Responsibilities
Deliver one-to-one tutoring sessions in core subjects (Maths, English, etc.) tailored to the specific needs and learning styles of each student.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students to foster a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
Adapt lessons to support students with different learning abilities, ensuring they understand the content and can progress at their own pace.
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents and carers, helping to track the academic and personal development of each student.
Develop and implement personalised learning plans that align with each students goals and needs.
Work independently, managing your own schedule and adapting sessions as required based on student feedback and progress.
Essential Requirements
Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
At least 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring in a one-to-one or small group setting.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible tutoring schedule.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience teaching or tutoring students at GCSE or Key Stage 3 level.
Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, etc.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and their families.
Additional Information
Sessions are generally conducted during school hours, with some flexibility for after-school or evening sessions depending on student availability.
This role offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing you to work directly within the local community or in students homes.
Prospero Teaching will provide ongoing support, resources, and regular progress monitoring to ensure you have the tools you need to succeed in your role.
