FLT / Baler Operative – Recycling Site (Temp to Perm)
Location Hartlepool
Working Hours Monday to Friday | 06:00 – 18:00

Our client, a well-established recycling and waste management operator, is currently recruiting for an experienced FLT / Baler Operative to join their busy recycling site in Hartlepool.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering long-term work and stability for the right candidate.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and baling equipment to support daily recycling operations. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and quality.
Key Responsibilities *Operating FLT to move, load, and stack materials safely
*Operating and monitoring baler machinery
*Loading and unloading materials within the site
*Carrying out basic checks on FLT and baler equipment
*Ensuring materials are processed and stored correctly
*Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
*Supporting general site operations as required
Health & Safety *Adhere to all site health, safety, and environmental procedures
*Carry out daily equipment checks
*Report defects, hazards, or incidents promptly
*Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
Candidate RequirementsEssential
*Valid FLT licence (Counterbalance or Reach – site dependent)
*Previous experience operating baler machinery or similar equipment
*Experience in recycling, waste, or industrial environments
*Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
*Ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
*Experience within a recycling or waste management site
*Additional plant or machinery experience
