Job Description:
Senior Credit Controller
*Contract Type: Six-month fixed-term contract
*Location: Central London
*Salary: Competitive
We are seeking a Senior Credit Controller for a six-month fixed-term contract. This role is crucial for increasing collection rates, leading on process improvement, enhancing reporting, and providing extra capacity to reduce a backlog of customer queries within the credit control team. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with a backlog of debt and taking a proactive approach in managing a high volume of customer interactions.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead and monitor the credit control process to ensure timely collection from customers.
*Provide guidance and training to other members of the credit control team as appropriate.
*Contact customers by email and telephone to discuss late payments, recording appropriate system notes for all communications.
*Maintain and update customer records, ensuring accuracy and compliance, including managing any invoice queries and achieving customer satisfaction.
*Develop and prepare regular reports on credit control performance for management review.
*Review and develop credit control procedures to maintain required debtor levels for both membership and all other revenue streams.
*Monitor the input of invoices to customer websites/portals as required.
*Proactively monitor aged debt and take appropriate action to reduce overdue balances.
*Undertake other ad-hoc duties as required to help contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s objectives, whilst supporting the finance team’s goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
*Working knowledge of accounting systems, customer relationship management systems, and Microsoft 365.
*Good understanding of basic bookkeeping.
*Experience in identifying and implementing process and reporting improvements.
*Desirable: Working towards a professional accounting qualification and working knowledge of NetSuite.
