Team Leader – Recycling Site (Temp to Perm)
Location : Hartlepool
Working Hours : Monday to Friday | 06:00 – 18:00

Our client, a well-established recycling and waste management operator, is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join their busy recycling site in Hartlepool. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering long-term prospects for the right candidate.
Role Overview As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising site operatives, ensuring daily targets are met while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role, leading by example on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities *Supervise and support a team of recycling operatives
*Allocate daily tasks and manage workloads effectively
*Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
*Monitor productivity and report performance to site management
*Carry out basic paperwork and shift reporting
*Support training and induction of new starters
*Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the site
Health & Safety *Enforce site health, safety, and environmental procedures
*Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings as required
*Identify hazards and report incidents or near misses promptly
*Ensure all staff wear correct PPE at all times
Candidate RequirementsEssential
*Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role
*Background in recycling, waste, manufacturing, or industrial environments
*Strong leadership and communication skills
*Good understanding of health and safety procedures
*Ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
*Experience within a recycling or waste management site
*FLT or plant machinery experience (training may be provided)
