Job Description:
Field Engineer
We’re working with a growing UK technology business that designs and deploys advanced chemical sensor systems for the water and environmental monitoring sector. They’re looking to hire a Field Engineer to support installations, maintenance, trials and customer-facing technical work.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys practical engineering, autonomy in the field, and seeing their work make a real-world impact.

The roleYou’ll support customers across the full lifecycle of installed systems.
Key responsibilities include:
*Installation, commissioning and maintenance of sensor systems at customer sites
*Fault finding, repairs and planned maintenance
*Supporting product trials and demonstrations
*Assembly, testing and calibration of equipment
*Acting as a technical point of contact on-site
*Working to safety procedures, risk assessments and quality standards
*Liaising with internal engineering and manufacturing teams
What we’re looking forThe client is open on background and qualifications. Practical ability and attitude matter most.
Essential:
*Engineering or technical qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience
*Strong practical skills (mechanical, electrical or electro-mechanical)
*Experience with installation, maintenance or repair work
*Comfortable working directly with customers
*Organised, reliable and able to work independently
*Full UK driving licence
*Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
*Experience with sensors, instrumentation or high-tech equipment
*Exposure to quality or safety management systems (ISO, RAMS, etc.)
*Background in water, environmental, utilities or regulated industries
*CSCS card
Location & travelBased in Southampton, with regular travel to customer sites across the UK.
