Teaching Assistant - Reception Class - Deptford Area - Primary School A supportive and forward-thinking Primary School in Deptford, SE London, is seeking a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team. This is a full-time role, 5 days per week, starting January, with trials taking place imminently.
This Teaching Assistant role is slightly unique, as on Mondays and Fridays you will be required to cover the class teacher. All planning and resources will be provided, and your responsibility will be to confidently deliver pre-set lessons and manage the classroom effectively. On the remaining days, you will work as a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with learning, routine, and engagement.
Key responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant role include:
* Supporting children in a Reception class with learning and development

* Covering the class teacher on Mondays and Fridays (work fully planned)

* Delivering engaging EYFS lessons with confidence

* Supporting behaviour, routines, and transitions

* Working closely with the EYFS team and senior leaders

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in EYFS

* Confidence covering a class independently

* HLTA experience or prior class-cover experience (highly desirable)

* A proactive, calm, and confident approach

* Strong classroom management and communication skills
