Are you passionate about design, technology, and hands-on problem-solving? We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to support our innovative DT department and help deliver exceptional learning experiences for our students. This will be a fixed term contract until the end of the summer term or a permanent position depending on your preference.
About the Role
This is a practical, workshop-based position where you’ll play a key role in preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and supporting students as they bring their ideas to life. You’ll work closely with teachers and learners to ensure lessons run smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and maintain tools, machinery, and materials for practical lessons in Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Product Design.

*Manage stock levels, order resources, and keep the workshop organised and efficient.
*Assist with creating engaging displays and teaching resources.
What We’re Looking For
*Hands-on experience in a technical or workshop environment—backgrounds in carpentry, manufacturing, product design, or premises management are highly valued.
*Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
*Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*A genuine commitment to supporting student learning and achievement.
(School-based experience is desirable but not essential—training will be provided.)
Why Join Us?
*A supportive and collaborative team environment.
*Opportunities for professional development and training.
*Access to modern facilities and resources.
*The chance to make a real impact on students’ creative and technical skills.
Ready to inspire the next generation of designers and makers?
