Creative Graduate in Darlington – Learning Support Assistant Psychology & Creative Graduates Welcome
Milk Education is offering an exciting opportunity for a Creative Graduate in Darlington looking to take their first steps (or next steps) into the world of education and SEND support.
This role is based in a vibrant and inclusive school setting, where you’ll play a key role in supporting children with Autism and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). It’s an ideal position for graduates aspiring to careers in educational psychology, mental health, social work, or teaching.
You’ll work closely with students on a one-to-one and small-group basis, helping them build confidence, engage with learning, and develop socially and emotionally within a supportive, structured environment.
Your Role as a Learning Support Assistant: * Deliver personalised support to pupils with Autism, learning challenges, and additional needs
* Assist with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), IEPs, and positive behaviour strategies
* Encourage emotional wellbeing, independence, and academic growth through creative and engaging approaches
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure inclusive learning
* Support pupils with personal care when required (full training provided)
* Track progress through observations and contribute to reporting and reviews
* Help foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
What We’re Looking For: * A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject
* Experience with children or young people with SEND or Autism is a plus, but not required
* A creative, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting learners
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
