Job Description:
Commercial Manager
*Job Type: Permanent, Hybrid
*Salary: £45,000 - £49,359
*Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
We are seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the development and delivery of strategic and complex commercial projects. This role requires an expert who can provide leadership, manage stakeholder engagement, and ensure compliance with governance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial management, including procurement and contract management, and the ability to drive successful outcomes.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead the development and delivery of strategic commercial projects, ensuring they meet timelines, manage risks, and deliver value for money and customer satisfaction.
*Provide expert advice on commercial issues and support the team by developing a category management approach.
*Manage stakeholder engagement, understanding customer needs, and sharing best practices.
*Draft contractual documentation and provide guidance on best practice contract management methodologies.
*Support improvement projects by developing templates, tools, and processes, and implementing IT systems.
*Maintain accurate reporting information for the corporate contract register and commercial workplan.
*Ensure compliance with Governance and Contract Standing Order processes in collaboration with the Legal and Governance Teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Degree in a relevant field or demonstrable practical experience.
*Relevant professional qualification (e.g., MCIPS or IACCM) and membership of the relevant body.
*Extensive experience in commercial management, including strategic procurements and contract management.
*Strong knowledge of UK and EU procurement regulations and contract law.
*Proven ability to manage and champion change successfully.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and challenge effectively.
*Comprehensive experience in leading, negotiating, and influencing stakeholders.
