Job Description:
1. How has the vacancy come about / Background on the role
*The vacancy has arisen due to the current Head of Service being off work due to sickness.
*There is significant work required around culture and practice within the team.
*This is an interim role for approximately3 monthsto provide stability and leadership.
2. Main Responsibilities of the Role
*Oversight of the Children with Disabilities Service.
*Work closely with a group of Heads of Service covering safeguarding and family services.
*Drive consistency in practice and lead cultural improvements within the team.
*Develop and implement policies and procedures.
*Oversee two recently commissioned peer reviews and ensure actions from these reviews are implemented.
*Attend in-person meetings everyWednesday.
*Hybrid working:3 days in the office per week.
*Review processes to save money by making sure service users are getting their actual required time.
3. Key Skills
*Essential: *Social Work qualified.
*Experience working with Children with Disabilities, SEND, and EHCP care plans.
*Strong leadership and ability to influence culture and practice.
*Desirable: *Previous experience as a Head of Service.
*Experience in policy development and implementing review recommendations.
*Transferable: *Senior leadership experience in children’s services.
4. What would they expect to see on the CV?
*Background in Children’s Social Care, specifically with disabilities and SEND.
*Evidence of leading teams and driving cultural change.
*Experience managing policy and procedure development.
*Track record of implementing actions from reviews or audits.
5. Process & Timeframes
*Interviews: Via teams
*Start Date: ASAP.
*Working Arrangements: Hybrid (3 days in office, Wednesday in-person meeting).
*Rates: £550-£600 per day.
*Contract Length: 3 months.
