*Location: Hybrid – 3 days WFH, 2 days in-office during handover (then 1 day every 2 weeks)

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is Part-Qualified or Qualified by Experience, with strong technical skills and the ability to hit the ground running.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Journals:
*Preparation and posting of monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll, and other adjustments.
*Ensuring all journal entries are accurate, supported by documentation, and comply with accounting standards.
*Reconciling control accounts and investigating discrepancies.
*Month-end close activities

* VAT Returns:
*Preparation and submission of VAT return in compliance with HMRC regulations.
*Reviewing VAT coding on transactions to ensure accuracy.
*Assisting with VAT reconciliations and resolving queries.

* General Accounting Duties:
*Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
*Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations.
*Liaising with auditors and providing required documentation.

* System Work:
*Extensive use of NetSuite for posting journals, running reports, and maintaining accurate records.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Immediate availability and willingness to work on a temporary contract.
*Strong experience in journals and VAT returns.
*Proficiency in NetSuite (essential).
*Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
*Comfortable with hybrid working arrangements.
