Job Description:
Change Lead x 2 (Education and Social Care)
*Location: Hybrid - Leicester
*Job Type: Full-time
*Salary: £500 a day
We are seeking 2 Change Leads to join our client’s Transformation Unit. These are pivotal roles responsible for managing and overseeing departmental and corporate change initiatives, ensuring they align with the strategic priorities of the organisation. The successful candidates will lead a team of Change Managers and Change Officers, driving forward the effective delivery of our Strategic Change Portfolio within Social Care and Education.
Day-to-day of the role:
*As a key member of the Transformation Unit’s Senior Leadership Team, contribute to the leadership and improvement of the Unit, including leading communities of practice.
*Provide corporate leadership across the strategic change portfolio, fostering a culture conducive to efficient and innovative change.
*Ensure all transformation initiatives align with the strategic requirements of the organisation translating corporate and departmental strategies into operational change.
*Coach senior managers and teams to identify new ways of working and develop strategies for sustained change.
*Maintain a comprehensive understanding of departmental and corporate change agendas to maximise the Transformation Unit’s contributions.
*Performance manage change initiatives against agreed outcomes and targets, establishing strong relationships at all levels.
*Identify opportunities for further change initiatives that enhance service delivery and contribute to the organisation’s financial strategy.
*Ensure departmental boards and key decision-makers receive up-to-date information on progress, benefits realisation, and risk management.
*Provide professional advice and utilise appropriate methodologies for developing change initiatives.
*Lead and direct officers in discovering, designing, and delivering change, focusing on performance, motivation, and learning within the council’s values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualification in Programme, Project or Change Management.
*Demonstrable experience or significant demonstrable experience in the following areas:
*Successful management of significant and complex change programmes, projects, and change initiatives requiring coordination of resources and workstreams, often in partnership settings.
*Working in an organisational environment which requires extensive engagement and consultation with senior managers, utilising skills of influence and persuasion to achieve successful outcomes.
*Managing and understanding general financial and budget information in the context of an organisation’s financial strategy, efficiency, and savings plans.
*Contributing to the development of new ways of working through new and/or revised policies and strategies.
*Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage senior teams and major projects.
*Excellent relationship management skills, with the capability to engage with departmental management teams and external partners effectively.
*Ability to translate strategic visions into operational realities.
*Expertise in performance management, coaching, and professional development.
*Knowledge of risk management practices at a senior level.
