Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment Group’s Engineering Services Division are supporting a long standing client as their business grows to recruit a Generator Service Engineer.
The Generator Service Engineer is responsible for the routine servicing of power generators and associated equipment. The role includes site surveys, customer liaison, fault finding and repair.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Generator Service Engineer include:
*Minor, intermediate, and major service and maintenance of diesel generators
*50 kVA to 3 MVA standby and synchronising
*Load bank testing, off load testing, and black building testing
*Welding and general mechanical fitting
*Steel pipe fitting
*Site surveys
Qualifications, Skills, Training & Experience required for the Generator Service Engineer include:
*Apprentice-trained Fitter
*Electrical and mechanical fitting skills
*17/18th Edition wiring qualification
*ECS, CSCS, and IPAF
*Full engine strip down and rebuild skills would be an advantage
*Experience of working with generators such as FG Wilson, SDMO, Pramac, Perkins and MTU
*Experience in coolant, lubrication, fuel, starting, battery charging and warning systems
*Experience of PLC controlled systems such as Deep Sea, ComAp, Dief
*Knowledge of generator peripheral equipment, louvre control, fire systems, alarm, and warning systems
*Producing on site risk assessments
*Experience working within the field and comfortable with working away during the week
