Elevation are partnering with an established UK logistics operation in Doncaster in their search seeking an experienced Transport Manager to take full ownership of a busy, multi-vehicle transport operation. Reporting into the Transport & Planning Director, the Transport Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the transport function, ensuring service, cost, and compliance targets are consistently achieved. This is a senior, visible role requiring a confident leader with strong presence, sound judgement, and the ability to manage both people and pressure.

Key Responsibilities
*Full accountability for daily transport operations and on-site performance
*Planning and managing resources to achieve budgeted targets and KPIs
*Maximising fleet utilisation through effective vehicle and route planning
*Leading, developing, and managing drivers, planners, and supervisory staff
*Planning weekly workloads and manpower, including effective use of agency drivers
*Managing driver performance, conduct, and attendance in line with company policy
*Ensuring full compliance with transport legislation, driver hours, and tachograph requirements
*Maintaining high standards across Health & Safety, environmental, and legal compliance
*Liaising with internal depots, customers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth distribution operations
Key Skills & Experience
*Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport leadership role
*Strong working knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance
*Confident people manager with experience handling performance and disciplinary matters
*Commercially aware with a track record of improving efficiency and cost control
*Calm under pressure, decisive, and comfortable operating in fast-paced environments
